Eron Harris of Lawrence North committed to West Virginia on Sunday just before leaving campus on an official visit.

Harris didn’t have much major Division I interest until coming on in the second half of his junior season and played very well against top competition in the spring and summer.

He also took official visits to Dayton, Loyola (Ill.) and Evansville, but West Virginia got involved late.

Harris is a 6-foot-2 guard and while he won't be guaranteed as much playing time as he would at the other schools, the coaches alleviated those concerns.

“They told me they needed a player like me,” he said. “And going there, I saw it with my own eyes. I bonded really well with the players there.”
